Bob McGann

Robert P McGann is a lifelong resident of Woburn, MA where he served as Electrical Inspector from 1992-1997. He is the International Association of Electrical Inspectors 2010 Eastern Section President.

Bob says "Electricity has been my life".  Following in the footsteps of his father Phil who had a contracting business before Bob was born. Bob began pulling wires at an early age, in order to be with his Dad who worked seven days most weeks to support the eight children he and Kay raised.
 
Robert had obtained his Journeyman license in 1977 and his Masters in 1980.  Bob presently holds the position of Electrical Inspector for the City of Cambridge MA where he is working in his 13th year.
 
He began teaching the journeyman program for Coyne Electrical and Technical School in order to keep sharp on the codes and theory." There is no one that will challenge you more than the dedicated and focused student".  Bob is now in his twelfth year as Owner, Director and  Instructor with the Woburn Electrical School of Code and Theory.  The School began in 1981 under George Williams.  His instructors are mainly IAEI Electrical Inspectors.
 
He has served on the Massachusetts Board of Fire Prevention Regulation Electrical Code Advisory Committee as an Electrical Inspector representative on the 2002, 2005 and the 2008 Massachusetts Electrical Code.

Bob has also been an IAEI representative to the National Fire Prevention Association code making panel-16 for the 2005 and 2008 National Electrical Code. First completing his Residential, Plan Review and General electrical inspector certifications on the 1993 NEC, Bob has continued to keep these certifications current as each code cycle renews. During this year he has worked towards and obtained the Master Certified Electrical Inspector accreditation.

Bob has served as Chairman of the IAEI Paul Revere Chapter for two years and the Municipal Inspectors of Massachusetts and Rhode Island for two years.  He has served in many positions as a Board member with his chapter including Education and Scholarship Chairman.  He has also served as a Paul Revere Representative to the Executive Board of the Eastern Section IAEI since 2001.

Bob holds a Construction Supervisors License in MA and currently holds a Master Electrician License in the state of New Hampshire. He looks forward to taking and teaching courses for many years to come.
 
Bob resides in Woburn, MA with his wife of twenty two years Karen and their daughters Melonie Lyn and Kylee Rose. They enjoy their leisure time outdoors along the coast of New England or in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire.
