Experience:

Electrical Inspector

This position includes working with multiple construction projects varying from renovations of single family homes through high-rise buildings with various occupancies. Locations include but are not limited to general offices, computer rooms, telecommunication switching stations, emergency systems, multi-family dwellings, assisted living residences, bio-medical labs, classified locations, institutional, industrial and health care facilities.

 

Woburn Electrical School of Code and Theory, Woburn, MA  1998 - Present

Director / Owner / Instructor

The school is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department
of Education and approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Electrical Examiners. As the director / owner I supervise six instructors, as instructor I instruct the code exam preparation and mandatory continuing education courses as well as fill in on all other classes when needed.

 

City of Woburn, Woburn, MA  1992 - 1997

Electrical Inspector

The city has an approximate population of 40,000 and a high percent commercial base.

 

Coyne Electrical and Technical School, Mt. Ida College, Newton, MA 1992-1998

Instructor

Instructed the journeyman and mandatory continuing education courses.

 

Philip M. McGann Electrical Contractor, Woburn, MA  1972 - 1997

Master Electrician

Began as an apprentice, became a journeyman and then a master electrician. Accomplished in installation, instruction, estimating, plan review and project management in residential, commercial and industrial applications.

 

Certifications:

§   Certified by B.O.C.A., I.A.E.I., I.C.B.O. as Electrical Inspector for single and two family, general, and plan review

§   Licensed Unrestricted Building Supervisor

§   Certified Data-Telecom copper an fiber optic installations

§   N.I.C.E.T. Certification for fire alarms (working toward)

§   Chairman of the Paul Revere Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. (2 years)

§   Executive Board Member of the Paul Revere Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. (9 years)

§   Chairman of the Municipal Inspectors Association of Massachusetts

   and Rhode Island (2 years)

§   Board of Directors Eastern Section of the I.A.E.I. (7 years)

 

Appointments:

§   I.A.E.I. representative to the Massachusetts Board of Fire Prevention-Code Advisory Committee March 1999.

§   I.A.E.I. representative to NFPA-70 CMP-16 for the 2005 National Electrical Code. Beginning in October 2002. Requested by I.A.E.I.
to remain on for 2008 cycle.
